The club is showing support in trying to raise funds for 2 very worthy charities “The Brain Tumor Charity” and “St. Catherine’s Hospice.”
There will be both a senior supper night and a junior festival to raise funds, details found below.
The reasons for why are sadly because recently York Bowden sadly passed away after suffering from a brain tumour. He was still so young and sadly left his young family behind, many of you will know Emily, Abbie and Daniel from their junior days at the club and more recently the girls for their key roles in my coaching programmes. This charity is very dear to Head Coach, Russell Dykes’ heart too as he lost his mother to this disease back in 2013.
There are a few ways you can support:
1) Supper night – Thursday 15th September (Emily and Russell will be hosting!). They will provide a fabulous meal and to come along please sign up on the club noticeboard. It is open to anyone and starts at 20:00, £10 per ticket.
2) Junior Festival – Friday 23rd September. 17:15-18:30 – Games and drills for younger members (Free, but donations welcome). 18:30-20:00 – Parent and child tournament, £5 per entry. Please email Russell if you would like to take part. 18:00 onwards – BBQ, £5 per burger (firstname.lastname@example.org)
3) We will be holding a raffle during the BBQ on 23rd September and are in need of prizes. Tickets will be sold nearer the day.
4) If you can’t attend any of the above but would like to show your support as some generous people have already done you can donate at either of the following sites:
Many thanks in advance,
Russell and Emily
