RPLTC offers plenty of opportunity for competitive play within the club including three senior tournaments a year (Open, Veterans’ and Handicap) and a singles league which runs throughout the year and accommodates all levels of play.
The club is also active in a number of the inter club doubles leagues in the area running ladies’, mens’ and mixed teams. These leagues include: Dorking and Leatherhead, Weald, Surreys and Surreys daytime vets.
Head Coach Russell Dykes is a world ranked +35 player and actively encourages junior and senior members alike to compete in tournaments outside of the club.
JUNIOR COMPETITION
Mini Tennis Tournaments/ Matchplays
As a club we are committed to introducing players to competition in a friendly environment where they learn the rules of the game, how to score, to win and lose and how to behave in competition. This year the club will run internal leagues and a series of matchplay tournaments at the three levels (red, orange and green) as well as the popular junior closed tournament that is open to all members of the club. Please see the notice board for more details.
Juniors also have the opportunity to play in the Little league and Surrey leagues (all age groups from 8&U to 16&U). RPLTC has also hosted Surrey junior tour matchplays which have seen our juniors take on some of the county’s best at the club.
Social Tournaments and Matchplays
Throughout the year we will be introducing a whole host of activities to encourage play at all levels. Look out for the much anticipated parent and child events throughout the summer as well as starter tournaments to introduce everyone into the sport in a positive and encouraging manner and at a level that suits them.
