On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June, Reigate Priory Lawn Tennis Club had the pleasure of hosting a vibrant weekend of junior competition, comprising six age-group tournaments. The event began with our youngest players in the 8&U category and concluded with the 16&U Girls’ final, showcasing the depth of talent across all levels.
The standard of play was excellent, and a strong sense of camaraderie, fair play, and mutual respect enriched the atmosphere throughout the weekend. Each match reflected the players’ dedication and growth, and the entire event was a testament to the positive culture that had been cultivated within the club.
We extend congratulations to all our 2025 Junior Champions:
- 8&U & 9&U – Ivaan Hawkes, displaying remarkable consistency and composure.
- 10&U Green Ball – Thea Ward, with a determined run through challenging matches.
- 11&U Boys – Harry Burton, showcasing sharp technique and competitive focus.
- 12&U Boys – Oliver Kearns, impressing with tactical play and mental resilience.
- 16&U Girls – Alexa Johnson, delivering a composed and confident championship win.
Looking ahead, our U18 Boys’ and Girls’ Championships will be staged as a knockout competition over the summer, culminating in finals held during our Senior Open Finals Day on Sunday 7th September. This joint showcase promises to celebrate the next generation of players alongside our leading seniors. Not forgetting the current ladies’ Champion and Runner-Up are two of our juniors, Melody Reader and Evie Waite!
We are proud of every participant for their enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship—qualities that made the weekend truly special.
