Epic Rallies and New Champions Crowned at Reigate Priory’s Open Finals Day

This year’s Open Finals Day at Reigate Priory Lawn Tennis Club was one to remember, with record numbers of players and supporters coming together to celebrate a fantastic day of tennis in Reigate.

Following strong feedback from last year’s event, the 2025 Finals Day featured an expanded schedule, including the Plate Singles Final and the U18 Junior Finals for the first time. The courts were buzzing with energy throughout the day, showcasing high-quality, competitive tennis across all categories.

Plate Singles: Tim Austin beat Justin Gibson 7-5, 6-0
Ladies’ Singles: Magda D’Ingeo beat Mars Hatari 3-6, 7-5, 6-3
Men’s Singles: Josh Nichols beat Ivan Nikolov 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (10-8 in the deciding championship tiebreak)
Ladies’ Doubles: Heather Byrne & Claire Wiley beat Lucy Hamilton & Susie Taylor 7-5, 6-2
Men’s Doubles: Josh Nichols & Euan Waite beat Tim Austin & Ivan Nikolov 6-1, 6-3
Mixed Doubles: Tim Austin & Lucy Hamilton beat Ivan Nikolov & Susie Taylor 7-6, 1-6, 6-2
U18 Girls: Greta B beat Evie W 6-1, 6-0
U18 Boys: Carter J beat Alistair R 6-3, 6-4

Every match was hard-fought, with impressive rallies and plenty of support from the sidelines. The atmosphere reflected everything Reigate Priory stands for — competitive spirit, community involvement, and a shared love of tennis.
